CITÉ MÉMOIRE: BEHIND THE SCENES OF AN IMPORTANT MONTREAL PRODUCTION TO DISCOVER THROUGH VIRTUAL REALITY

Today, Montréal en Histoires is launching a virtual reality offering a behind the scenes look at its flagship project, Cité Mémoire, a creation by Michel Lemieux and Victor Pilon, in collaboration with Michel Marc Bouchard. Through the Montreal en Histoires mobile application, those who are curious about technology will be able to access this four-minute immersive capsule. The virtual reality presents interesting facts on this unique production in the historic district, the installation of the projectors, the roll-out of the fiber-optics and much more.

The Montréal en Histoires mobile application offers more than sixty historical interventions through points of interest and augmented realities, as well as the audio contents of the Cité Mémoire tableaux. Montréal en Histoires is proud to extend its offer to Montrealers and visitors through a new type of experience: a virtual reality. The experience is lived with a helmet or in 360 degrees directly on your device.

Cité Mémoire and the mobile application are the result of a long-term project combining the strengths of several local talented people from the artistic, cultural, cinematographic, technical and technological fields. As for the production of the work, Montréal en Histoires attracted partners such as VYV and Fibrenoire, and worked with the Smart and Digital City Office of Montreal and the Palais des congrès for the launch of the fiber-optics in Old Montreal. Their collaboration has been invaluable in making this project possible.

Interesting facts:

  • 89 projectors
  • More than 100 km of cables installed for the project
  • More than 600 people directly involved in the project
