audiences since 1979, when he graduated from the National Theatre School of Canada\u2019s production program. As far back as 1982, Lemieux\u2019s onstage creations were already fusions of music, images, performance and projections. In addition to making an indelible mark on the national scene,\u00a0<em>L\u2019Oeil rechargeable<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0<em>Solid Salad<\/em>\u00a0were among the first Quebec productions to tour extensively around the world. Ever since, this multidisciplinary artist has defied classification. A creator, set designer, director, composer, performer and videographer, Lemieux continues to be at the forefront of the performing arts.<\/p>\n<p>Lemieux\u2019s meeting with Victor Pilon in 1990 marked a turning point in an already well-established career. With their production company\u00a0<strong>Lemieux Pilon 4D Art<\/strong>, they devise singular shows in which new technologies intensify the audience\u2019s sensory and emotional experience. The duo masterfully integrates theatre, film, dance, poetry, visual arts, music and sound to create unique theatrical worlds. Their close collaboration has yielded\u00a0<em>Dreamscapes<\/em>, the installation presented at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts to mark the company\u2019s 30<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0anniversary,<em>\u00a0Icare<\/em>,\u00a0<em>La Belle et la B\u00eate<\/em>, Shakespeare\u2019s\u00a0<em>The Tempest<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0<em>NORMAN<\/em>, a tribute to Canadian filmmaker Norman McLaren. Their partnership with the Montreal and Quebec opera companies resulted in the opera\u00a0<em>Starmania<\/em>.\u00a0<em>TORUK<\/em>\u2014<em>The First Flight<\/em>\u00a0was their fourth collaboration with Cirque du Soleil, after\u00a0<em>Delirium<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Midnight Sun<\/em>\u2014which jointly commemorated the 20<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0anniversary of the Cirque du Soleil and the 25<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0anniversary of the Montreal International Jazz Festival\u2014as well as a number for the show\u00a0<em>Michael Jackson<\/em>\u00a0<em>ONE<\/em>. They created\u00a0<em>Continuum<\/em>, a production based on Philip Glass\u2019s music catalogue, the first multimedia show presented at the Rio Tinto planetarium in Montreal. The duo also collaborates regularly on exhibitions and special events. world.\u00a0<em>Lilies<\/em>,\u00a0<em>The Orphan Muses<\/em>,\u00a0<em>The Tale of Teeka<\/em>,\u00a0<em>The Coronation Voyage<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Down Dangerous Passes Road<\/em>\u00a0and, more recently,\u00a0<em>Tom at the Farm<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Christine, The Girl King and The Divine; a play for Sarah Bernhardt\u00a0<\/em>are his most well-known works. Michel Marc Bouchard has received many awards, including the National Arts Centre Award, the Chalmer\u2019s Award, the Dora Mavor Moore Award, the Betty Mitchel Award, theatrical critics\u2019 association awards in Quebec and Mexico, as well as the Primo Arte Candoni in Italy, the SACD Award in Paris, the American Lambda Award, the Gascon-Thomas and the Prix Laurent-McCautcheon. He is an Officer of the Order of Canada, a Knight of the National Order of Quebec and a member of the Acad\u00e9mie des lettres du Qu\u00e9bec. The film (<em>Les Feluettes<\/em>,\u00a0<em>The Orphan Muses\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0<em>Heat Wave<\/em>) and television adaptations (<em>The Tale of Teeka<\/em>) of his plays have earned him many awards including the 1996 G\u00e9nie Award for Best Film and the G\u00e9meaux for Best Dramatic Program in 1998. The film adaptation of\u00a0<em>Tom at the Farm<\/em>\u00a0directed by Xavier Dolan earned numerous awards including the International Critics Award at the 2013 Mostra in Venice. The year\u00a02016 saw the release of\u00a0<em>La Reine-gar\u00e7on\u00a0<\/em>by Mika Kaurismaki, the Finnish director for whom Bouchard wrote the screenplay, as well as the lyrical adaptation of his play\u00a0<em>Les Feluettes\u00a0<\/em>by the Op\u00e9ra de Montr\u00e9al.
