Montréal en Histoires continues to innovate: Virtual reality terminals come to parc Jean-Drapeau

Montréal, Wednesday, August 16, 2017 – Montréal en Histoires has designed innovative and unique virtual reality terminals—a first in North America! A virtual reality headset is no longer required to enjoy this technology thanks to terminals in fixed outdoor locations. This new easy-to-use device adapts to any size and was developed and manufactured entirely in Quebec, local expertise once again making its mark.

A first experiment at parc Jean-Drapeau

The first three terminals set up in parc Jean-Drapeau provide immersive experiences where users travel through time, visit the pavilions of Expo 67 or discover the park as it will be in 2019. The augmented reality terminals have been set up in the Aquatic Complex, offering a fun and educational experience. A stop that’s worth the detour during your next visit to parc Jean-Drapeau! To use a terminal, follow this three-step procedure:

  1. Select your language
  2. Choose your experience
  3. Explore!

Montréal en Histoires mobile application

The content developed for parc Jean-Drapeau—two virtual realities and one augmented reality—is also available through the free Montréal en Histoires mobile application.

Montréal en Histoires would like to set up this technology in other outdoor sites to allow passers-by and visitors to travel into the past and future.
